NPI (unofficial name, but used on this website for convenience) is a parasitic virus threatening remains of humanity. The parasite controls the infected person through the spinal cord. NPI poses a threat due to its airborne transmission (?) and the inability to reverse the infection.

Infection progresses extremely quickly, with the transition from initial to final stage lasting 2-4 hours. The presumed stages of infection can be characterized as follows:

Stage 1 - initial: fever, delirium, and confusion. The temperature rises to 102°F-105°F, the eyes begin to redden. Hallucinations are also common.

Stage 2 - transitional: body temperature increases significantly, and the skin takes on a gray-green tint. The infected person begins to lose their mind.

Stage 3 - final: the body mutates and increases in size, the infected person becomes aggressive and begins to attack.

NPI-infected are distinguished by their strength and mass, and can easily kill a normal human. They feed on the flesh of animals, humans, and sometimes even their own kind.

Due to their unique nature, NPI-infected individuals may experience extremely rare cases, such as incomplete infection or even the parasite's inability to develop within the body (i.e., immunity).
